'Tis the season for outdoor eating – and there's no better (or tastier) way to celebrate than with samplin's and sippin's from Atlanta's most beloved fleet of food trucks. So rally up at the Atlanta Food Truck park for your pick of five fancy fixin's and two imbibes from Atlanta's mobile eateries.
It's hard to believe that two years have passed since our most-beloved food vendors on four wheels hit the brakes and set up shop at their Howell Mill outpost. Where else in Atlanta can we enjoy such a bevy of eats? Indeed, the Atlanta Food Truck Park has graced our treasured trucks with a three-acre expanse of greenery to call home—and in turn given our hungry bellies a place to seek out hotdogs, popsicles, pho, tacos, barbecue and other delights without having to keep tabs on the truck's whereabouts like hungry helicopter parents. Thanks to its existence we have passed many an afternoon eating our way into some of the most well-varied, deeply satisfying food-comas. And to celebrate their second anniversary, they're treating us to an exclusive event on March 27 – a preview of some of the city's shiniest new four-wheeled food ventures alongside brand spanking' new eats from our most tenured trucks.
With your handy passport in tow, you'll have your choice of five different trucks to visit, each of whom will be whipping up unique concoctions that haven't been unveiled to Atlanta's food truck aficionados. (Except you, of course.) Like a globetrotter of good grub, you'll jetset your way from the smoky goodness of Sweet Auburn Barbecue to the savory Indian spices of Masala Fresh, stopping along the way to snack on some freshly made Southern pecan gelato or sniff out the provisions from a few of the new kids on the block. Perhaps you'll break to dance off those tacos to the sounds of live music or rake in a few of the special giveaways. And this year, although patrons are welcome to BYOB as in years past, your tickets also grant you two imbibes of your choosing. (After all, this is an anniversary party.)
