Kick it in a cool, gallery-like space while a creative stylist snips, styles, and smooths your 'do into a work of art.
Snooty, over-the-top, over-priced salons are so passe. Nowadays, we're all about kicking it in a gallery-like urban space, soaking up all the local art on the walls, and getting our locks styled by a talented, creative stylist who you'll actually want to hang out with. And The Cherry Blossom just so happens to fit the bill perfectly. Situated just off Ponce in the Poncey Highlands (naturally), The Cherry Blossom is full of stylists who pride themselves on being artists, working with scissors and hairdryers instead of charcoal and paint, creating masterpieces with both talent and creativity. And that's all without the heavy doses of snobbery or unce-unce-unce nightclub music of gaudy, pretentious salons. While your locks formed into elegant Mad Men waves or a rad, Siouxie-esque 'do, you'll begin to see why owner Keirsta (an artist herself) sees her team as artists, too: they've each mastered shape, color, form, just like any painter or sculptor.
Whether you're taming your mane with a smoothing treatment (and one that, unlike many other salons, doesn't include carcinogens), snipping your tresses for that enviable summer cut, treating dry, thirsty hair to a lux deep conditioning, or playing with some color, there will be a skillful stylist — pardon me, a brilliant artist
— who can create something beautiful. Luckily for you (and for me), you can do all three of the above in one fell swoop with a day in these artists' hands. To the usual limp, dry hairstyles of summer, we bid you a fond farewell. And we give a hearty greetings to our artistic new tresses, fit for a gallery wall.
