Start bedazzling your best pair of stretchy pants. We're throwing a party at the Georgian Terrace featuring Tough Love Yoga, a rooftop swimming pool, and refreshing eats -- a holy summer trinity if there ever was one -- all in one afternoon fit for a rockstar.
Prepare to rock out with your chakras out because this yoga party is meant for the rockstar deep within. At this little summertime soiree, you'll stretch it out on your mat to rock 'n' roll with Tough Love Yoga's Neda Honorvar in a ballroom steeped in rock history. You'll nibble on bites from the Livingston and get your vitamin fix with sips of Chuice and dTox juice. And then, when you're feeling nice and limber, you'll head up to the Georgian Terrace's rooftop pool, where you can do a little poolside lounging while drinking in the epic vistas (and maybe drinking in a cocktail from Proof & Provision if you so desire). It's a yoga party, rockstar-style. And since you asked... yes, of course rockstars do yoga. How else do you think Mick Jagger still fits into those leather pants?
You may recall Neda Honarvar as the tattooed yogi who ditched the typical Enya soundtrack in favor of something a little more face-melting. Neda, whose Tough Love Yoga classes have built up a cult following around town, will lead the charge with two metal yoga sessions in the Georgian Terrace's historic Piedmont Ballroom—or, if we're talking circa 1974, the Electric Ballroom, former home to such acts as the Ramones, Bruce Springsteen, and Kiss (no, seriously, there's proof). And really, can you think of any better way to bust a move — er, practice our vinyasa — than to the sweet sounds of Gene Simmons?
After an hour of rock 'n roll yoga, it'll be time to get the party started. If all those crow poses have you feeling peckish, swing by the reception for samples of Chuice, dTox, and light bites from the Livingston (and a sweet goodie bag from Atlanta Activewear). Then it'll be time to swap out the stretchy pants for a Speedo and seek higher ground. With a panoramic view of Atlanta (you can see
Stone Mountain from up there!), the Georgian Terrace's rooftop pool and patio is a perfect place to rock your post-savasana glow. Take in the scenic vistas, do a little poolside lounging, propose a game of Sharks & Minnows, perhaps sip on a Proof & Provision cocktail, and bust a move when Chris Devoe takes to the DJ booth. (After all that bending and stretching earlier, you should be able to throw down some serious party tricks on the dance floor.) Before long, you'll really start to feel the love and light.
