We can't think of a better way to celebrate Indian summer (perhaps our favorite time of year) with one of our other favorite things: pork. And the folks over at Citizen's Band and Bloodhound could not agree more. These Folsom St. neighbors are teaming up to throw a pork party so delicious we've dubbed it the ultimate porkapalooza.
Picture this: On September 16, Bloodhound's cozy hunting lodge style bar will play host to a full-on pig fest, complete with cocktails and the following pork-themed bites: - chili braised pork sliders, pickled jalepeño slaw, and chili mayo on mini brioche buns - bacon beignets with maple anglaise - sour ale cotechino with sweet garlic mustard and rye toast points - ginger and scallion roasted mini pork spare ribs
Sound good? Trust us, you'll want to save room, because out back Citizen's Band chef Chris Beerman will be manning the pig roast station and making sure this hog comes out juicy and tender as can be. Enjoy the fruits of his expertise with a Southern-style plate with pork fresh from the roast, BBQ sauce and white bread.And if that's not enough porky goodness for you, Chris will be putting on a live butchery demonstration on the pool table (it's a bar people. Crazy things happen). He'll show you how a whole hog breaks down into the chops, ribs, belly and loin you're familiar with, and when he's done his singular prime cuts will be available for purchase (if you know what's good for you, you'll bring home the bacon, along with a jar of his pork brine to make dinner all the juicier).
