The Atlanta Food Truck Park is serving up one of the most unique al fresco brunching opportunities we've heard of: one that entails all of the finest eats from our most beloved four-wheeled food vendors, served up with all the finery of a sit-down restaurant. Oh, and did we mention the live jazz performances and Cirque du Soleil giveaways? Pinkies up, y’all – this food truck park is getting fancy.
Ever since our most-beloved food vendors on four wheels hit the brakes and set up shop at their Howell Mill outpost, a little over two years ago – we’ve been more than a bit smitten with the Atlanta Food Truck Park. What’s not to love? All of our most treasured trucks within one three-acre expanse of greenery – this is al fresco dining at its finest, so we thought. But when we got wind of an event that would throw some finery into to the mix with the finest – and at the magical brunching hour no-less – our hearts were all a-flutter. Imagine giving our hungry bellies our choice of donuts, pastries, sausages, crepes, and barbecue without having to keep tabs on the truck’s whereabouts in a frenzy. Yup, that’s right – the Atlanta Food Truck Park is busting out the big wheels for this brunching bacchanal, so we can sip on our mimosas, fraternize, and sway our hips to some sweet jazz tunes like never before.
Upon admission to Flapjacks & Jazz at the Atlanta Food Truck Park, you’ll have your choice of mimosa or bloody mary (because what’s brunch without booze, y’all?). From there, you’ll peruse the fine eats from some of the best food trucks in the land – all of which will be serving up a signature brunch selection prepped just for the event, in addition to their regular menus. Treat your taste buds to some creamy cheese grits topped with signature savory pulled pork from Sweet Auburn BBQ. Or maybe devour some peanut butter French toast from Highland Bakery. Think breakfast ain’t breakfast without an egg or two in the mix? Well then direct your attention to a fresh-baked quiche from Spiedie Zone, or some breakfast tacos from Dottie’s. (Really, the options here are pretty much endless.)
Once you’ve made your selection of eats, and maybe picked up a juice or some coffee from the complimentary juice bar and coffee stations, there will be nothing stopping you from enjoying the masterful melodies of the jazz musicians who will be provide a soundtrack to the morning. Birmingham’s the Fifth Connection will be on stage throughout the festivities – featuring tunesmiths
Alvin King (trumpet), Nat Myers IV (saxophone), Coleman Woods (keys), Emery Kidd (guitar) and Benjamin Weldon (drums).
And as if we could up the ante any more – your purchase puts you in the running to win a pair of tickets to Cirque du Soleil’s latest, Amaluna. The tickets will be distributed at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m., so make sure you’re ready and listening. (Because pro-tip
: you can’t win if you’re not there to claim ‘em.) Live music, a one-of-a-kind brunchin’, imbibes, and the chance to win free tickets to the world’s fanciest circus? We’re rather fond of this whole fine-dining from a food truck idea.
