The Atlanta Taco Festival is an important part of of our spring, and the cornerstone to any great festival season - and now with the Tacos & Beer package, you can celebrate everything taco (including a masked wrestling match.)
Tacos may be a simple food - a humble tortilla wrapped around a filling - but there’s no doubt in our minds that they’re the perfect hand-held meal because they can be customized to fit any appetite. That humble tortilla? It can be corn, or flour, soft, or hard. And now, the fun part: the fillings. Meat, veggies, cheese, and any and every combination of the three make tacos nature’s perfect food. And what better way to celebrate finding perfection than, well, a celebration? This is why the Atlanta Taco Festival is such an important part of of our spring, and the cornerstone to any great festival season. (We don’t know anybody who doesn't like tacos.) And now you have the opportunity to get your taco and beer fix the Atlanta Taco Festival on May 1, at Candler Park, for the first iteration of a festival we're sure will keep on going for years to come. Taste the creations from dozens of restaurants all over Atlanta like Bartaco, the Freakin Incan, Tex’s Tacos, Matador Cantina, and Elmyriachi, as well as some delicious fusion tacos from Yumbii, Bhojanic, and more.
With your Tacos & Beer package, you’ll get an RFID band mailed to your house that gives you 12 taco points and five beer points to spend however you like. One point equals one dollar, and each vendor will be providing tacos for two to three points each. These are full sized tacos, people, no minis here. Additionally, some vendors will have more than just tacos, and these special items may be up to 10 taco points. Craft beers have varying point values, but most will be around five points. And of course you can reload your RFID band at any time you want more of anything. Your band will be mailed to you pre-loaded, which means you just have to scan it at each vendor to get your hands on all those delicious tacos. You should receive your band in the mail after April first.
So you think it can’t get any better than tacos & beer? Guess again. Your ticket also gets you into all the entertainment- including a Lucha Libre wrestling match. We can’t wait to see what kind of madness these masked fighters from Lucha Libre U.S.A. bring to Candler Park. If you want to keep on moving, you can take salsa classes, and there’s live music throughout the day. We know you love a competition, so during this celebration of everything taco, you’ll be able to text your vote for your favorite taco, and the winning vendor gets bragging rights forever (or at least until next year’s taco festival.) A portion of the proceeds will be donated to CHRIS Kids, an organization created to help children, strengthen families, and build communities, so eat up, folks. Presented by Lunazul Tequila and Tortillas La Banderita, the Atlanta Taco Festival is celebrating our favorite street food this spring.
