Nothing says “I love you” like cookies. Trust us, we've tried to ply the favor of our crushes for years with dinners, flowers, singing telegrams, and skywriting, but this time, we're going for award-winning, decadent cookies, which also have actual personalities.
Scouts, we found out some very important information recently, and we’re sharing it with you today: cookies have different personalities. At least, they do when they come from The Cookie Studio. We didn’t know that was possible until we headed to the Buckhead outpost and chatted with owner Barbara O’Neil while taking in the heavenly scent of vanilla and brown sugar melding together to make that elusive perfect cookie. Yep, Barbara let us in on that little secret- that her award-winning cookies all have separate, distinct recipes. That may sound like a no-brainer, but you'd be surprised- most bakeries simply add different mix-ins to the same basic dough for all their varieties. That M&M cookie is made from the same dough as the chocolate chip, which is the same dough as the oatmeal raisin. But not at the Cookie Studio. Nope- these delicious baked goods each have a distinct temperament. The classic chocolate chip? Sweet and dependable. The spicy ginger? Feverishly romantic. And Barbara’s famous chocolate shortbread hearts? Creative and good natured, with a bit of a wild streak. Barbara tests each recipe extensively to make sure they’ve got the right mix of crispy edges, gooey insides, and plenty of sweetness before bringing them to her cookie chompin’ customers, which now include you, Scouts. Yes, this Valentine’s Day, forget the flowers, and give your crush an ode to your favorite parts of their personality with a custom mix of a dozen cookies from the Cookie Studio.
Barbara’s been baking since childhood- her cookie prowess came from her mother, who was always baking up a special treat. And even into adulthood, she bonded with her step-daughter by baking cookies together. In 2005, she was working in the IT field and read an article about a group of women in LA who left their corporate jobs to start a cookie business, and she was inspired- ever since then, she’s been the go-to for unique cookie creations. And we're so glad she’s now in Buckhead, providing cookies for us on Valentine’s Day. Scouts have their choice of ordering a dozen chocolate shortbread hearts, or a mix of four varieties chosen from the following: spicy ginger, hot chocolate (made with chocolate chunks, crystallized ginger, and cayenne pepper), chocolate chip, chocolate chocolate chip (that’s double the chocolate, folks), butterscotch oatmeal, snickerdoodle, or heart-shaped chocolate shortbread, all wrapped up in an adorably romantic package with a Valentine’s Day message. Simply call in your order 48 hours in advance - every cookie is made to order - and then head to the Cookie Studio to pick up your specially-created and wrapped Valentine's Day confections. And while you're there, grab a cup of coffee or even lunch; the Cookie Studio is a full-service cafe just waiting to show you its personality. This February 14th is the perfect time for a cookie-based personality test for you and your bae, but don’t worry about the results- whatever you choose (and it’ll be a tough choice), we know you have a sweet personality too.
