No matter what the name makes you think, Baked is serving up casual, healthy comfort food- and that’s it. Their brand new outpost in the Old 4th Ward is ready to bring you, dear Scouts, the comfiest dining experience you’ve ever had.
Though it’s a hard-to-find phenomenon these days, family dinner was a nightly occurrence where the whole gang would gather around the dinner table to partake a meal that was made with love. It was a place where folks could be themselves, talk about their day, bond with their family, tell stories, or maybe even do a little bickering (every family is different, right?) But no matter what happened, the centerpiece was simple, nourishing food. And that’s what Baked is all about. No matter what the name makes you think, Baked is serving up casual, healthy comfort food- and that’s it. (Well, maybe some booze too, but we'll get to that later.) Most of their food is actually baked, just the way owners Scott Bianculli and Chuck Beard, and Chef Delorean Ostrom remember from their childhood, so they dedicated their energy to bringing that home-cooked feeling to the denizens of Marietta. Now, riding on that success, they were invited by the owners of the Tribute Lofts in the Old 4th Ward to open up shop, and and are eager to bring you, dear Scouts, the comfiest dining experience you’ve ever had. And it’s not just about the food, either. From Scott, Chuck, and Delorean to the servers and bartenders, every person at Baked is your pal- genuine and friendly, we’re pretty sure you'll be back just to hang out and chat.
Now let’s talk about that O4W menu
. You may notice something a little different- they only serve up 12 entrees. Scott says that they keep the menu small because they do what they do exceptionally well. And we have to agree- their elevated classics with a southern twist features entrees like chicken fried to crispy golden perfection (there’s a place for fried chicken in every
diet, no matter how healthy) and horseradish-dijon glazed baked salmon. Most of the entrees come with two sides, ranging from healthy veggies like brussels sprouts and green beans to the comforting like creamy mac & cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. So basically, you can go vegetarian healthy (yes, veg-heads rejoice! The veggie cake entree is hearty and
animal friendly) or a complete meat and carb fest- or anything in between. They can accommodate special diets, so go ahead and dive into their gluten-free options too. And the desserts? Simply addictive, with selections like the Crack Bar, with layers of shortbread, snickerdoodle, and chocolate ganache. We know what you’re going to ask next- what about booze? We’re oh-so-glad you asked, because they have a full bar serving up crafted cocktails, along with beer and a mighty fine wine selection. Yep- most of the taps are local, featuring the likes of Wild Heaven, Second Self, Sweetwater, and the champagne of beers for those who live the high life. So what are you waiting for, Scouts? Get the whole crew, and get comfy.
