Partying is cool. But partying with a heavy dose of good karma? That’s epic. Join Scoutmob and Epic Yoga at one, two or all three sessions of this special event that shows local-loving yoga rocks.
Sure, yoga and Enya might be like peanut butter and jelly, but yoga and Wu-Tang are like peanut butter and marshmallow fluff—a delicious addiction that once you pop (and lock), you can’t stop. Yes, fluffernutter sandwiches rock and so does this righteous yoga event that’ll replace your oms with “Om yeahs!” Led by Emma Saal, the lovely and bendy lady behind Epic Yoga, one of DC’s best studios, this party will get your asanas in motion. First, enjoy a 75-minute yoga session set to a killer rock‘n’roll and hip hop soundtrack. Led by Emma herself, a yogi with enough passion for her practice that a yoga mat is pretty much a permanent accessory, this class will suit both yoga newbies and experienced masters. Plus, with Emma’s unique martial arts and dance background, you can expect a lot more than a couple of sun salutations. Prepare to get down, downward doggie-style.
And what’s a party without a few dranks? That’s where Capital Kombucha comes in. Taking this traditional Asian fermented tea beverage to a new level, each participant will get two Kombucha cocktails to enjoy while basking in all the Zen and getting to know one another. Those who sign up for the first session will party in a specially transformed temporary space by cool art dudes of No Kings Collective (915 F St., NW). The second two sessions will take place at Epic’s flagship studio in Dupont Circle (1323 Connecticut Ave., NW). Either way, you’ll end up seeing the inside of Epic because along with all the above awesomeness is this: everyone will get a gift certificate for one additional yoga session with Epic. May you continue to rock out with your chakras out.
